One Company File

QuickBooks Business Bookkeeping CleanupThe question that is still yours

Send one question. The reply answers that one.

Ask it
Four short answers say when a tied bank is still a mixed file.

What people usually still wonder

Can the bank be tied and the year still be unusable? Yes. A tied bank inside a mixed login is a finished sidewalk in front of two unmarked doors. The tie is real. The statements are not one company.

Is a new file the default? No. One legal name, with departments and a messy chart, stays one file. Two legal names with two elections are the case for a second file, and only after the filed year is fenced.

Does this practice run payday? No. We arrange the provider. You press the pay dates.

A line from the papers, then back to the file

A line of deposits can still be one company or two, and the bank feed will not tell you which. The formation papers will. We have stood in front of that feed with an owner who was sure the volume meant two businesses, and the papers showed one name.

If your question is about a processor fee and a transfer landing in the same week, both can be true, and neither one decides how many companies you have. Send the question anyway if the count is already done and the week is the new worry.

What the reply is

We answer the question you send. If it needs the four public questions, we point at them. If it needs a time, we say so. A second pitch is not the reply.

Questions that look like a new job

A question about a processor fee and a transfer in the same week is a week question. Both can be true, and neither one decides how many companies you have. Send it if the count is already done and the week is the new worry. We will not turn it into a speech about a second file.

A question about whether to open a new subscription is a shape question. We will point you at the papers and the election before anyone compares prices. A cleaner icon is not a reason. A second legal name with a year already filed is a reason.

A question about payday is a setup question. We can put the provider, the registrations, and the accounts in place per company. You run the payday. If the company has nobody on payroll, the close says so, and we do not invent a wage line.

A name and a phone, with nothing else, still starts the reply. A year export can wait until someone asks for it. Bring the class names when you have them. Leave the password off the note.

If your question is whether a class named for a city is a second company, the answer is still the papers. A place name on a row is a label until the formation documents say otherwise. Send the row and the document name. We will not treat the city word as a taxpayer.

If your question is about a letter from an agency, say which office and which year. An estimate voucher and a filed income return are different papers. Name the office so we are looking at the same paper. The disclosures page says a figure stays only while the office that printed it still prints it, and that figure is not a quote for your own return.
